Initialement nommé Mame32, il fut le premier port de MAME(Arcade) sous plateforme Windows. MAMEUI32/64 est un émulateur multi-arcade et multi consoles/ordinateurs incluant une interface (frontend).
 
Comme c’est Robbbert qui, de toute façon, fait le job pour MAMEUI depuis des années (et non John IV), il vient de proposer directement les deux builds sur sa page et pas uniquement la version 32, comme ça « ça c’est fait » ! ^^
 

 
Changements valables pour MAMEUI/MESSUI:

– A newer compiler is used: GCC 11.2 (mamedev version)
– Added some previews of improvements that might appear in MAME in the near future
– Sinclair computers: zx80, pc8300, pow3000, lambda: fixed the display, are now playable.
– Added Colecovision SGM (Super Game Module) support (from PR#10816)
– In dkong TKG-02 board, fixed a regression with the background colour (from PR#11170 and MT05052)

 
Rappel:
L’ancien MESSUI devient le nouveau MAMEUI (arcade+console+ordinateur), l’interface étant plus aboutie et performante. L’ancienne interface (très proche visuellement mais avec quelques menus en moins) de MAMEUI est donc définitivement abandonnée.
 
– MESSUI (full version) has been renamed to MAMEUI. The old MAMEUI interface has been retired.
 
A noter que MESSUI est à présent totalement fusionné dans MAMEUI (qui conserve ce nom), seule une petite astuce permet de transformer MAMEUI en MESSUI (voir ici).

MAME(arcade) = MAME en version Arcade uniquement.
MAME(MESS) = MAME en version consoles et ordinateurs uniquement.

Officieusement appelé Mame And Mess Emulators, MAME est un émulateur Arcade et Consoles/Ordinateurs qui relie les anciens MAME et MESS dans un seul émulateur multi-usages émulant plus de 2150 systèmes différents. Couplé au frontend QMC2, vous pouvez alors utiliser tous les fichiers Mame extras & Mess Extras.
 

 
En résumé:
MAME 0.264 is ready right on time! Before we get to emulation improvements, there are some changes to the debugger that may affect you. The debugger’s printf and logerror commands now support more formatting conversions and options, including NUL-terminated strings from emulated memory, hexadecimal numbers with lowercase digits, and left-aligned fields. This may change the behaviour of some debugger scripts. In other general changes, MAME now supports saving compact cassette images in compressed FLAC format, so you can save some disk space.
 
Thanks to new contributor Enzo Lombardi, Dribbling now has emulated sound! This classic twin-stick top-down football game was once a common sight in Italy’s numerous arcades. Sound effects make for a much more authentic experience. Robin Sergeant, another relative newcomer to MAME development, has been putting in a lot of work to improve the state of the Research Machines RM-380Z family, and it’s really coming together. This release adds sound, graphics, 8″ disk drives, and more.
 
The very rare arcade game Vampire from Entertainment Enterprises has finally been dumped and emulated. A rare sight in ’80s arcades, it wasn’t known for being a great game. In a way, this makes it more interesting, as we’re more often reminded of successful games and more likely to forget the failures.
 
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can use the newly emulated Visual Technology XDS-19P as a graphical terminal for a modern Linux system running X11 applications. It requires setting up BootP and TFTP servers, as well as configuring the host system so it can connect, so be prepared for a challenge if you decide to try it out.
 
Of course, there’s much more, including working controls for Tomy Plarail and Tomica TV games, fixes for audio CD playback, and dumps of the few remaining EC series Japanese e-kara cartridges.

WineD3D For Windows est un wrapper DirectX 1-11 vers OpenGL basé sur WineD3D, qui est une implémentation presque complète de DirectX utilisée dans Wine.
 

 
Même si Windows prend en charge DirectX de manière native, l’utilisation de WineD3D peut améliorer la compatibilité avec les jeux plus anciens, en particulier sur Windows 8 et supérieurs qui ne prennent pas en charge les modes d’écran 16 bits. Une autre utilisation possible est d’imiter les versions non prises en charge de DirectX ou de transférer des applications DirectX vers OpenGL sans avoir à réécrire le code de rendu.
Notez que WineD3D est loin d’être parfait, et de nombreux jeux ne fonctionneront pas.
 
Des instructions sur l’utilisation des DLL sont également incluses.
 
Version 1.7.x fonctionne à partir de Windows 2000.
Version 6.x fonctionne à partir de Windows Vista.
