Project Hyperion Readme
-----------------------

v0.3 beta

        - First public release

        - Hopefully a slight speed increase, but probably not noticable.

        - Some CD-ROM and controller changes, but they probably won't have
          much effect.

        - Being sick sucks. :/

v0.2 beta

        - Things should run a little faster now. Please compare the
performance of v0.1 beta and v0.2 beta.

        - CD rom functionality is improved, but still vastly broken. You
shouldn't need ASPI DLL to run (it should just report no CD). If
you don't have a CD in your CD drive the program may potentially
crash. If you do have one in it, it will read some information but
          it won't interpret it correctly.

        - The system menu is far more functional, but doesn't appear entirely
correctly. You should be able to change languages, etc. Changing
the time is still not supported, but it won't hurt anything.

        - I've been experimenting soley with Saturn CDs, which don't seem to
display the right time or number of tracks. They do try to read the
boot sectors, but then hit some sort of problem with what I suspect
is the copy protection. You might want to try an audio CD and see
what it thinks of it (track count, length of play, etc.).

v0.1 beta

        - Upon startup you will be prompted for a Saturn ROM BIOS image. After
several seconds you should see the splash screen for the particular
BIOS appear. After quite a while longer you should go back to a
black screen. Shortly thereafter the CD player should come up. It
may take some time for the screen to fade in completely. The screen
is active when the little red and blue electrons are swinging slowly
around the middle button. The starfield may animate even though the
screen is not ready to accept input.

        - One standard Saturn pad is emulated through the following keyboard
          keys:

                Arrow Keys -- directional pad
                Z X C -- A B C
                A S D -- X Y Z
                Q -- left trigger
                E -- right trigger
                Escape -- start button

Because of the current speed issues you will probably need to hold
down a key for a couple of seconds to get it to register.

        - If you attempt to leave the CD screen (by going to the System Menu)
it will probably lock up. Trying to actually play anything from the
CD will also probably lock you up. You should be able to do things
safely like hide the player, switch to the advanced mode buttons,
          etc.

        - At this point I'm just looking to find out that all of the above
pretty much worked as advertised. You can e-mail the feedback to
          me: hyperion@emuhq.com. Thanks.
