AdriPSX Playstation Emulator for PC
(c)1999-2001, Roor Makurosu
Release 01.02.01 (DOS VERSION)
************************************************************

BEFORE BEGGINING:

This DOS version compatibility is a lot lower than WIN
version. This version has been "on hold" for several months.
This release has been done because of several people that
have mailed me asking for it... it seems to be that there
are still DOS lovers outhere (like me), and that AdriPSX
for DOS does run very fine with OS/2 WARP.

If you want good gameplay, I advice you to use Windows
Version, so you can take advance of Hardware Acceleration
features. Use DOS version only when you don't want toi
use WINDOWS, or just to satisfy your curiosity.

1. What is AdriPSX ?

AdriPSX is a Sony PlayStation) (AKA known as PSX) emulator,
developed by Roor Makurosu...
It can run several games designed for the PSX console on a
PC running Windows 9x, NT, 2000 or DOS..
Its perfomance depends heavily on your PC configuration, and
what kind of PSX game you are trying to run.
AdriPSX will never substitute a true PSX but it can give you
the excitement to run your favorite games on your PC.
Many games will not work properly or not work at all.
I'm very aware of this and I'm always trying my best to make
more games work flawlessly and speed up its performance.

************************************************************
2. AdriPSX minimum requirements

Required:
* MS-DOS 5.0 or higher, or Windows 95 or Windows 98.
(runs under Windows 2000, but without CDROM support).
* Penium MMX or higher compatible processor.
* 8 MB of RAM, and some free hard drive space.
* VESA compatible video card. (VESA 2.0 LFB support is recommended).
* 4x or faster MSCDEX compatible CD-ROM reader.

Some laptop DVD-ROM drives are unable to read game disks.
Not all PlayStation games play well with AdriPSX, and some
may not play at all.

************************************************************
3. AdriPSX BIOS requirement

If you got to this point you have sucessfully extracted the
AdriPSX files in a directoryy. There are other directories
inside AdriPSX\. In the directory "Bios" you will have to
put a PSX BIOS ROM image. You can find the instructions on
how to download the BIOS image from your PSX and some already
downloaded BIOSes at some emulation sites. Which image to
download is up to the version of your PSX. Although, the
version named SCPH1001 is recommended.

NOTE: You are legally entitled to have an electronic
reproduction of the PSX BIOS ONLY if you personally own an
original PSX console. The BIOS image, like all commercial
software is protected under copyright law.

AdriPSX is prepared to run in three display modes, to assure
a better compatibility, and run using different video hardwares.
AdriPSX may run using VESA 2.0 LFB 15 and 16 bits fullscreen displays,
or well using the closest compatible 16bit display in "windowed mode".
Fullscreen modes are quite faster than windowed mode, but not all times
supported. Newer GFX cards do not seem to care much about VESA compatibility.
AdriPSX will always try to autodetect available videomodes.
If autodetection is not succesfull, try using "-force15", "-force16" or
"-forcewin" in the command line.

Current release of AdriPSX support for sound is completely disabled.

Command line options:

-force15 Force autodetection to use 15bit VESA2 display modes.
-force16 Force autodetection to use 16bit VESA2 display modes.
-forcewin Force autodetection to windows mode.
FILENAME The name of a PSX executable you want to run.

Keys, in Main Menu:
V Changes between fullscreen and windows mode.
W Changes CDROM Drive Letter
L Loads a PSX executable file.
F1 Boots a CDROM, using dynamic recompiler.
F7 Runs PSX emulation, using interpreter.
F8 Runs PSX emulation, using dynamic recompiler.
F10 Boots a CDROM, using interpreter.
F12 Shows Video RAM.
ESC Exits AdriPSX.

Keys, during emulation
P Pauses emulation.
I Shows some tech info about current execution.
O Turn on/off the display of current speed, and others, in gamescreen.
TAB Takes an screenshots and saves it.
ESC Exits emulator.

Keys for playing:
START-SELECT ENTER-BACKSPACE
L1-R1 R-T
L2-R2 F-G
CIRCLE D
SQUARE S
CROSS X
TRIANGLE E
ARROWS ARROWS

For now, AdriPSX only support keyboard as controller, and only emulates one
game controller. Speed is not the best possible, and GPU/GTE have still bugs.
Compatibility is around 30% at least.
Very important, don't forget to place SCPH1001.BIN bios image file in the same
directory as AdriPSX executable.
