VECTOR MAME FOR WINDOWS
=======================

Installation: Read the entire file before using or installing the software.
-------------
1. These instructions assume you have a properly configured ZVG, and have used one before.
2. Make sure your ZVGPORT environment variable is set correctly & the parallel port is configured in the BIOS and operating system.
3. Copy Inpout32.dll into the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory
4. Copy vmame32-1.0b.exe into a directory of your choice (the "install" directory)
4a. Rename it to something sane like vm.exe if you want...
5. Create a ROMS directory under your install directory, and populate with (MAME .137 compatible) Vector Game ROMS
6. If you're using Windows 7, turn off USER ACCESS CONTROLS. THIS IS A SECURITY RISK. It is less of a risk if the machine is not connected to the internet.

Running VM4W:
-------------
Vector MAME for Windows (VM4W) is version .137 of MAME for Windows with ZVG support. You can use VM4W just like MAME if you wish.
ZVG Support is enabled with the following command line parameters:

-zvg (0-2)	sets the ZVG mode.
		0 disables the ZVG (default)
1 enables the ZVG and MAME PC displays (slower)
2 enables the ZVG and disables vector drawing on the MAME PC display (faster)

-zovr enables overlay support for certain B/W vector games
-zart enables vector "backgrounds" for Warrior and Armor...Attack

All other standard MAME command line flags can be used as well, though may not affect the ZVG display. A typical command line is:

	vmame32-1.0b.exe -zvg 2 -zovr starcas

Filing Bug Reports:
------------------
Send bug reports or problems via PM on the VAPS boards. My username is SteveJ. When I have a critical mass of bugs, I will update the software. Please include the following in your report:

1. System configuration
2. Command line used to run VM4W
3. Good description of output or worrisome behavior

Basically, if I can't reproduce it, it ain't a bug :)
