[ARCADE RACING HISTORY]

Laser Grand Prix by Taito.

The first laser disk driving game. Videocameras were installed on a car, and real footage
of an actual race circuit was taken. Despite beeing a laser disk game it did not suffer
from the lack of playability that was common at the time ("Dragon's Lair", "Space Ace", etc),
in fact it had similar playability than "Pole Position", only the background was
preanimated, the cars were generated and overlayed by computer.
