Raiden Fighters MB ROMS

This archive contains ONLY the 2x TSOP40 smt ROMs that
were located on the main PCB of Raiden Fighters.
They were missing from the original Team Japump dump.
The 2 ROMs were connected to the YMF271-F chip and a 74LS32 chip.
Loading them into Goldwave as PCM 8 bit Signed MONO samples gives
some nice sounds ;-)

An interesting note... I also have a Battle Balls PCB (same hardware exactly).
Swapping the rom boards over just gives a checksum error 1050 and the game doesnt work.
The PCBs _appear_ to be exactly identical, even down to the same PALs and CPLDs.
Very strange why it doesnt work though when swapped....
I can only think that the Dallas DS2404S (with connected 3.6V battery) is the culprit ?

UPDATE:
OK, I powered up the PCB wihout those 2 ROMs and the same error occurs.
I replaced the ROMs and powered it up again and it works fine.
So, the main PCBs _are_ identical except the sample ROMs, and those sample ROMs
are checksummed on bootup, and if they are not correct, the board doesn't boot.

This system (known as 'SPI') consists of a main board and a plug-in
cartridge containing the game software. The games on SPI hardware can
be swapped by changing the top cartridge and then moving jumper JP072
to the alternative position. This re-flashes some ROMs for a few minutes
(accompanied by a techno music track). Afterwards, a message tells you to
put the jumper back to the original position and reboot the PCB. The new
game then plays.

There were a few revisions of this hardware, though most are the same with only
minor changes such as different IC revisions etc.
