Disclaimer and or License agreement
-----------------------------------

By downloading this software from the EmuDX website or one of its official mirrors, you are granted a limited right to use the software from hereon known as "EmuDX" for an unlimited amount of time, but which right may be revoked at any time if you (the user) fails to meet any of the criteria necessary to fulfill the terms of the License.

This software is provided without warranty etc, don't blame me if nasty things happen
when you use this software.

This software is FREE! If you sell it, you deserve a punch in the mouth. If you have paid anything for it, you are stupid.

I do not warrant use of this emulator illegally. This software is for use by those who OWN the original board/machine being emulated and would like to see the game from another perspective.

EmuDX is copyrighted software, just as much as the ROMS that are requires for it to function. Mike Green or any member of the EmuDX team, including but not limited to Family, Friends, Beta testers, website hosts, Graphic artists, sound engineers, coders, cpu emulator authors, documentation writers, ISP's, members of IRC channels, other users of EmuDX or anybody else related or non related to the production of this software, its source code, object libraries or related datafiles shall be held responsible for any effect, diverse or otherwise from the use or misuse of EmuDX, related datafiles or any inclusive distributed archives. Except if its positive, then I'll take all the credit :-)

It is upon the onus of the user to use this Emulator LEGALLY. At any point the right to use this software may be revoked, upon which time the user should delete any EmuDX archive material and files which were contained within archives related to EmuDX.

Pacman and MsPacman are trademarks of Namco or Midway depending on where you live and/or what roms you own.

All other names contained within this document are trademark or copyright of their respectful owners. No copyright infringement is intended.

If you obtained this software by any other means than downloading it from the EmuDX website (or one of the approved mirrors, see bottom of this document), you are involved in a criminal act, under which you can be prosecuted for. This includes CD's, floppy disks, other permanent and or temporary media known or unknown.

The EmuDX program and subsequent .dx datafiles are supplied without warranty, and are not privided as being fit for any specific purpose. If you get the software to work with or without any other files, that is your fortune. If it does not do so, then you have lost nothing and you will not contact the EmuDX team, or any other person, known or unknown, living or dead about any problem, specific or vague.

If you do not agree to anything in this document, now is the time to delete this software.

-== USE AT YOUR OWN RISK ==-

System Requirements:
--------------------

*** UNKOWN ***

If this software does not run on your machine, please do not e-mail us.

Roms
----

This software is USELESS without the original program roms, which are protected by copyright law.
I will not, shall not and cannot provide you with the roms to use with this emulator. You should obtain yours from the arcade pcb/machine that YOU own.

EmuDX by default will look for roms in the subdirectory called "roms". you may put zipped
archives or directories with unzipped rom images within this directory.

If the emulator cannot load the necessary roms, it will not run, and will tell you so.

Not all romsets are supported, and as such, renaming of the incorrect romset will cause EmuDX problems. Try to ensure you have the correct set before reaching for that e-mail program to bitch that "it doesn't work"

To prevent confusion, where possible, the MAME rom-naming convention has been used, and has been tested with non-merged romsets.

Controls
--------

3 - Coin
1 or 2 - Start 1 or 2 player game
Cursors or joystick - directional control
S - Service mode (and machine reset in some games)
Escape - exit emulator
Spacebar - Fire (some games, obviously pacman cannot fire at anything and neither can frogger before you ask)

F1 - F4 - Skip frames (1-4)

F5 - Disable Frameskip

F6 - Machine Reset

0 - Emulate as fast as hardware will allow

F12 - Take screenshot, will create a file called EmuDXx.pcx, where x starts at 0, overwriting any existing files.

Command line options
--------------------

No command line options are available anymore. EmuDX is to be conmfigured through the GUI and emudx.ini

Known Problems
--------------

It needs a fast machine and good graphics card to run without frameskip.
Some graphic glitches occur.

"CREDIT" and "HIGH SCORE" seem to be intermitently displayed and removed from pacman when game is ended or machine reset.

Frogger has some minor problems with music timing and sound effect volume.

Galaxian is EXTREMELY greedy with both cpu and graphic usage.

Donkey Kong has some problems with the intro.

That's it, if I've missed you out, or you think I've conned you in any way, contact me (sass@retrogames.com) before running to your lawyers, I'm sure we can work it out.

This document is not meant to offend. If you don't like it, tough! :-)

EmuDX is in no way affiliated with the owners of copyrighted roms upon which EmuDX runs.
EmuDX is not to be reverse engineered, decompiled or generally h4x0r3d, by anybody.
EmuDX is to be distributed only within its original untampered archive from approved EmuDX mirror websites, and is NOT to be distributed on any removable media, known or unknown (This does not apply to members of the EmuDX team as described at the top of this document who hold EmuDX under a different license agreement because they created it)

Do not e-mail asking for rom-images, as they will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities.
