LEGAL NOTICES:

WARNING!!!! By using this program, you agree that no member of the TOSEC team, nor the author of Tugid (Archie), nor anyone else is responsible for any problems or damage Tugid might cause, and that all responsibility is solely yours.

You are not allowed to reverse engineer or otherwise discover the
database format (TDB) used with TUGID. If this is legal in your
country, you are not permitted to exchange details of this format
with others, directly or indirectly, or publish this information.
The data contained in the TDB files is copyright TOSEC, beginning
from the time given by the 'file creation date' as recorded in the
zip container.

Right now, TUGID works well as a file-renamer for most systems. The immediate goal is to let you know which versions of files you have, and are they any good or not. Tugid is *not* meant to be used to collect every known dump for every known system, and it certainly is *not* to be used with files you do not legally own. There are people out there who will abuse this tool, and if you are one of those people, please remember this: Without the spirit of a true emuthusiast, you are only re-arranging the bits on your hard drive.

========================================================

Don't e-mail us asking for files - we only want to examine and catalog and in some way preserve the files, not be some sort of rom trading post. There are people who have IRC fserves and people who flood Usenet and people who have web servers and ftps specifically for giving you files, ask one of them. You don't want to make our lamers page, do you?

Known bugs/concerns in TUGID core:

When renaming multifiles, missing one of these files or having extra files will cause Tugid to think it's not the right set. This is intentional. Use the 'rebuild' command to put files back together.

Only rebuild into an empty directory. Rebuild into a directory may delete some files or render them unusable.

UEF files may not be recognized. If they are zipped, try unzipping. If unzipped, try zipping. Different system databases may yield different results. This is because UEF files are normally gzipped, and TUGID will gunzip gzipped files, but not if they are inside a zip.

Known bugs/concerns in TUGID GUI (Windows):

Load a database and then choose 'rename all' gives a crash after the rename is complete. The UI is displaying data which has been unloaded.

No network or UNC names are allowed in the directory names. "\\?\pathname" or "\\?\UNC\pathname" or "\\pathname" are not allowed. Forward slash '/' is not supported, it might work or might not

Information window is not very informative. If you have screenshots named correctly and in PNG format they will appear, but this is discouraged for the moment. File listing window is for multi-file sets.

The 'Properties' window is not very informative.
