Version 2.5

With this release, the entire method for storing data was revamped to make it easier to understand and much easier to redistribute packages of game collections.

Essentially, each game now has a Meagre folder where all images, extras, manuals, etc. are stored. Key to this is an ini file for each game as well./ The ini file will contain facts such as release year, game name, poublisher, etc. but will also give the names of the various images such as the box front or the title screen.

You may be wondering why even have the file names in the ini file if each is in a separate subdirectory anyway. This allows for multiple games to be in a single folder. For instance, in the case of a game collection where one "game" actually contains separate entries. Each entry can have their own ini file and separate image files in the "Front" folder for instance.

The program will now examine all subfolders for folders containing a Meagre directory. If you examine the meagre.ini file, you may notice a subfolder listing there. As long as your game is a subfolder of one of those directories listed in the ini file, and those folders are under the "Games" folder in your meagre directory, and as long as the game folder in turn contains the special "Meagre" folder, the game will be seen by the program.

What this means is that a folder of games such as "Infocom" or "NES" can be distributed easily between people.

The list of possible fields is now given in the "meagre.ini" file located in the root folder. Not every game needs every field filled in their own separate ini files, this just gives a list of what the program can track.

The display has also been revamped in this release as well. These are mostly cosmetic changes but also added an additional series field.

The grid will generally no longer be accessed but still can be made visible through the right mouse click menu on the main screen.
