-----------

This software is provided without warranty etc, dont blame me if nasty things happen
when you use this software.
By using this software you agree to these conditions.

This software is FREE! If you sell it, you deserve a punch in the mouth. If you have paid anything for it, you are stupid.

I do not warrant use of this emulator illegaly. This software is for use by those who OWN an original pacman machine and would like to see the game from another perspective.

Pacman is a trademark of Namco or Midway depending on where you live and/or what roms you own.

If you obtained this software by any other means than downloading it from the pacdx website (or one of the approved mirrors, see bottom of this document), you are involved in a criminal act, under which you can be prosecuted for.

This includes CD's, floppy disks and other permanent/non-permanent media.

So Basically, what I'm trying to say is two-fold:

1: If anything bad happens before, during or after using this emulator, It is YOUR fault.

2: It is up to YOU to use this emulator legally, I am providing this software for use legally for those people who have the right to use the roms required for it to run. If you get a visit from the FBI because you used my software, It is YOUR fault.

If you do not agree, now is the time to delete this software.

System Requirements:
--------------------

486/DX100 equivalent or better
16mb RAM
Graphics card/monitor capable of 640x480
Keyboard
Dos 6.2 or better (or winslows 9X)
Soundcard (with speakers)
The bayeux tapestry

This is the minimum spec for a "playable" pacdx. A higher spec machine is needed for the best effect.

Roms
----

This software is USELESS without the original pacman program roms, which are protected by copyright law.
I will not, shall not and cannot provide you with the roms to use with this emulator. You should obtain yours from the pacman machine that you own.

(Which incidentally has to be an original japanese "PUCKMAN" board because that's the only set supported!)

The roms this emulator runs on are:

Namcopac.6e (4k)
Namcopac.6f (4k)
Namcopac.6h (4k)
Namcopac.6j (4k)

pacman.5e (4k)
pacman.5f (4k) (not essential since 23/9/99)

Other variants *may* work, but this is the only set it has been proved working with. The weird sets like pirahna and new puck-x *DO* work but not as efficiently as the namcopac set.

N.B. Apparently, a renamed romset from one of the magic brush/crush roller/make trax clones worked and was quite amusing to watch. (Don't try this at home kids)

These need to go into a subdirectory named roms from which the emulator resides.

*ROMS MUST NOT BE IN ZIPPED ARCHIVES*

If the emulator cannot load the necessary roms, it will not run, and will tell you so.

Not all pacman romsets are supported, and as such, renaming of the incorrect romset will cause pacdx problems. Try to ensure you have the correct set before reaching for that e-mail program to bitch that "it doesnt work"
