VASTAR.EXE	26716
VASTAR.TXT	2367

Welcome to my personal Vastar emulator.
As for any other arcade emulator you have to put ROM images in a
proper directory.

Put the following files in a directory called "VASTAR":

	C_C9.ROM
	C_F7.ROM
	C_F9.ROM
	C_N4.ROM
	C_S4.ROM
	E_F2.ROM
	E_F4.ROM
	E_H4.ROM
	E_J2.ROM
	E_J4.ROM
	E_K4.ROM
	E_L4.ROM
	E_N4.ROM
	E_N5.ROM
	E_N7.ROM

Make sure the directory containing ROM images and the file VASTAR.EXE are
in the same subdirectory.

REMEMBER: ROM images are copyrighted,so in no way these files are
to be distributed with VASTAR emulator which is actually
                relesed as public domain.

The emulation is complete, except for the sound which is totally missing.
This emulator is written in assembly,so it is reasonably fast, most 486 gain
an acceptable speed.
A 100Mhz may be enough in order to play the game at full speed with
"vsync" option on (provided you aren't the unlucky owner of any of those
dreadful el cheapo on board VGA).

If the emulator doesn't run full speed disabling vertical sync by pressing
the TAB key should help;if the speed is still unreasonable you can resort
to go frameskipping.

CONTROL KEYS

ARROWS,ALT,CTRL control Vastar,shield,laser

TAB toggles vertycal sync on/off

F1-F2-F3-F4 frameskip 0-3

F5 game resets to "start with 3 lives" setting
F6 game resets to "start with 5 lives" setting
F7 game resets to "first bonus Vastar at 20k" setting
F8 game resets to "first bonus Vastar at 50k" setting

ESC quits emulation

TROUBLESHOOTING:
I made this emulator because I like Vastar.I had fun writing and playing it.
I have tried it on various machines and it works nice even under Window 95.
If it doesn't run on your machine and you aren't really interested in Vastar,
please don't complain and try MAME version:that should run on any computer.

THANKS TO
Adam Seychell for DOS32 fab DOS Xtender
Ishmair for Z80 emulator
Dave Spicer,for Sparcade of course!

FINAL WORDS
Have fun,and don't fire at Ewoks!!!
