What is CowChip?
CowChip is an interpreter for the Chip-8 language. It runs
under Windows 3.1 or higher.

What is required?
The absolute minimum requirements for CowChip is a machine
running Windows 3.1, but I recommend a Pentium 75MHz or better
processor, and a VGA or SVGA display. The program has been
tested on the following computers:

 "Bohdar"
Intel 486DX/2 66MHz, 24MB RAM, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 [tg]
 "Akbar"
AMD Am5x86 133MHz, 80MB RAM, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 [tg]
 "Akbar"
Same as above, but overclocked to 160MHz [tg]
 "Grub"
  Intel Pentium 100MHz, 16MB RAM, Windows '95 w/ service pack 1 [cw]
 "D-FENS"
Intel Pentium 120MHz, 32MB RAM, Windows '95 [cw]
 "Zeus"
  Intel Pentium-II 233MHz, 64MB RAM, Windows '95 OSR2 [tg]
 "The Beast"
  Intel Pentium-II 333MHz, 128MB RAM, Windows '95 OSR2 [cw]

It ran acceptably on all but "Bohdar."

Where can I get some games?
The CowChip archive contains a file called GAMES.ZIP. Simply
unzip this file into a directory. There are twenty-two games
included. All will run, but not all will be playable.

The CowChip archive also contains the file GAMES.C8L. This is
a library file containing all the same games that come in
GAMES.ZIP. This file is not compatible with the current version
of CowChip, but will be supported in later versions.

Features Currently Implemented:
 All original Chip-8 instructions
 Full 64x32 graphics display

	 Full memory and register displays
Memory dump option (raw binary or disassembled listing

Ports
A DOS port of CowChip is planned. See the SideCar Software web
site for details. Also, I am considering an Apple ][ port. :)

CowChip may also be ported to Macintosh, but don't count on it.
