STew v1.0 - Windows Atari ST Emulation
--------------------------------------

About
-----
Welcome to STew, an Atari ST emulator for your PC based on the freely available
WinSTon source code released by Paul Bates. This 'readme' will quickly explain
the basics of STew.

To run STew you will a 166Mhz or greater PC with Windows 9x or NT/2000 and DirectX.
A joystick is recommended but not required as cursor key emulation can be used.

Usage
-----
When STew is first run, it will boot to the familiar green desktop. The emulator uses two
basic keys - F11 and F12.

F12 toggles between Windows and ST mouse mode. While in Windows mouse mode any mouse
movement moves the Windows cursor around the screen. By pressing F12 this re-directs the
mouse to the emulator screen, moving the ST mouse around.
F11 will toggle between the Window and full-screen display mode.

There are a number of options to configure the speed, display mode, disc directories,
hard-drives and other features which are all covered in the Help file.

To run games and applications you will need to obtain a disc image. This is a single file
copy of an ST floppy disc - STew cannot read discs directly from the PC floppy drive.

To run a disc image simply click on the left most floppy disc icon(Drive A) in
the WinSTon tool bar. Select the disc image from the file selector and the emulator will
automatically reboot!

This is my first update to this emulator so you may notice very little difference between
this version and the original WinSTon v0.5. The only changes in this release are to fix the
bug in which the mouse pointer did not work as expected running in full screen. The other
change to this version is that it is 20-30% faster than WinSTon v0.5 because this version
was compiled using the Enteprise version of Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 which includes the code
optimiser which was missing from the Standard Edition.

I am planning on making many more updates to STew in the future (although it is possible that
the name may change)

Please note that the help button no longer works. This is because I have not included the help
files from WinSTon. I will be rewriting them to reflect the new name etc. and they will be
included in the next release of STew.
