{"id":59401,"date":"2019-04-02T13:38:51","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T12:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/?p=59401"},"modified":"2019-04-04T16:08:34","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T15:08:34","slug":"plugin-n64-gliden64-pr-4-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/?p=59401","title":{"rendered":"[Plugin N64] GLideN64 PR 4.0 Fix *maj*"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/gonetz\/GLideN64\/releases\"><strong>Gonetz<\/strong><\/a>, celui-l\u00e0 m\u00eame qui d\u00e9veloppait le plugin Glide64 (derni\u00e8re version en 2012, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/divers\/19-plugin-n64\/194-video\/3675-glide64-final-10th-anniversary\/\">ici<\/a>) consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un excellent plugin par beaucoup (bien que limit\u00e9 par l\u2019architecture qu\u2019il sert) s&rsquo;est \u00e9vertu\u00e9 \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un nouveau plugin avec davantage de possibilit\u00e9s que Glide64 mais en utilisant cette fois-ci l\u2019OpenGL (d\u2019o\u00f9 le nom) qui est beaucoup plus puissant et qui permet de faire bien d\u2019autres choses sans v\u00e9ritables limitations. Ce plugin utilise comme base <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/divers\/19-plugin-n64\/194-video\/1692-glnintendo64\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">glN64<\/a> de Orkin et, comme ceux bas\u00e9s sur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/divers\/19-plugin-n64\/194-video\/3820-ricevideo-community\/\">RiceVideo<\/a>, supporte les packs de textures hautes r\u00e9solutions (voir <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emutalk.net\/forums\/110-N64-Textures\">ici<\/a> o\u00f9 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ultra64.net\/?page=forum3&amp;action=liste\">l\u00e0<\/a>). Lancer n&rsquo;importe quelle rom(s). La premi\u00e8re ex\u00e9cution cr\u00e9era un fichier de configuration que vous pourrez alors \u00e9diter avec un \u00e9diteur de texte ou via un frontend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pour les \u00e9mulateurs utilisant les sp\u00e9cifications de Zilmar: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/emulateurs\/5-consoles-de-salon\/52-nintendo-n64\/3270-1964-non-officiel\/\">1964<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/emulateurs\/5-consoles-de-salon\/52-nintendo-n64\/181-mupen64\/\">Mupen64<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/emulateurs\/5-consoles-de-salon\/52-nintendo-n64\/4043-project64\/\">Project64<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/emulateurs\/5-consoles-de-salon\/52-nintendo-n64\/\">autres<\/a>. Copier les fichiers &lsquo;dll&rsquo; et &lsquo;ini&rsquo; dans le r\u00e9pertoire &lsquo;plugin&rsquo; de l&rsquo;\u00e9mulateur correspondant et lancer la configuration vid\u00e9o de l&rsquo;\u00e9mulateur pour utiliser GLideN64 comme plugin graphique. Configurer les options de configurations vid\u00e9os selon votre go\u00fbt et lire les info-bulles pour obtenir d&rsquo;avantages d&rsquo;explications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pour Linux Ubuntu64 avec l&rsquo;\u00e9mulateur Mupen64Plus: Cr\u00e9er des binaires efficaces distribuables pour Linux n&rsquo;est pas \u00e9vident, il n&rsquo;y a donc aucune garantie que cela marche. La distribution du plugin au public sera donc open-source, vous pourrez donc y jeter un \u0153il, le modifier et le compiler au besoin. A t\u00e9l\u00e9charger sur le projet officiel directement par <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/gonetz\/GLideN64\/releases\">les sources<\/a> ou utiliser celles d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sentes dans l&rsquo;archive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Voici les quelques explications sur cette nouvelle version:<\/strong><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>Today is time to set new Release tag to master branch.<br \/>\nPrevious Release 3.0 was a revolutionary one because of massive changes in plugin&rsquo;s architecture and new possibilities opened by these changes. This release is rather evolutionary. It continues tendencies started in the previous version. Of course, new features had been developed too. Lets see:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Solution for HLE problems:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe main theme of the new release is solution of HLE-related problems. It started with long long awaited HLE implementation of BOSS ZSort microcode made by Gilles Siberlin.<br \/>\nThen olivieryuyu and me completed our \u00ab\u00a0Mission Impossible 2\u00a0\u00bb : HLE implementation of microcodes for \u00ab\u00a0Indiana Jones\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0Battle for Naboo\u00a0\u00bb.That was a huge and incredibly hard work.<br \/>\nSuccessful completion of that task ultimately closed \u00ab\u00a0HLE not supported\u00a0\u00bb issue.<br \/>\nAll N64 games now can be run in HLE mode. olivieryuyu wrote an article about this microcode: \u00ab\u00a0The masterpiece graphic microcode behind the Nintendo 64 version of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine and Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo\u00a0\u00bb. I highly recommend to read it.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nNext step was to fix issues caused by incomplete or incorrect implementation of some HLE commands, which caused HLE-only glitches. We started with re-implementation of S2DEX microcode, which is designed to draw such 2D objects as sprites and backgrounds. olivieryuyu decoded that huge and tangled microcode and we made new HLE implementation of it, trying to reproduce original algorithms as close as possible. That work took us circa six month.<br \/>\nWe also fixed several small HLE issues, where glitch was caused by an issue in some command. Such fixes also required microcode analysis. Thanks to olivieryuyu&rsquo;s efforts we fixed:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&#8211; missing transition effect in Dark Rift menu<br \/>\n&#8211; Coin Block Blitz mini game in Mario Party<br \/>\n&#8211; Conker&rsquo;s Bad Fur Day lighting fix<br \/>\n&#8211; Missing graphics in Sim City 64<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Regressions fixes:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe second big topic of this new release is fixing of regressions.<br \/>\nUnfortunately, each big release is brings not only new features and fixes, but also new bugs. Complete testing is very hard and tedious process. Fortunately, users are founding and reporting us about issues. One of my goals for this release was to fix all known regressions.<br \/>\nI combed project&rsquo;s bug tracker for such bugs. To my surprise, many reported issues were actually old and very old regressions.<br \/>\nI even found regressions, which were made before the very first public release.<br \/>\nI fixed all these issues and I hope that this release will not bring many new ones.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>New features:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. As you know, GLideN64 has special mode for precise emulation of N64 depth compare. This mode helps to fix many minor and some major issues with depth compare, but it has some limitations:<br \/>\n&#8211; Serious performance drop in some games<br \/>\n&#8211; Incompatibility with Multi-Sample Anti Aliasing (MSAA)<br \/>\n&#8211; Logan McNaughton aka loganmc10 found OpenGL extensions, which helped us to weaken the performance issue greatly. Now you can use N64 depth compare freely if your hardware supports required extensions. This mode is still incompatible with MSAA, but now we have a solution. I implemented <a href=\"http:\/\/gliden64.blogspot.com\/2019\/02\/fast-approximate-anti-aliasing-aka-fxaa.html\">Fast Approximate Anti Aliasing (FXAA)<\/a>, which you can enable along with N64 depth compare.<br \/>\n2. Ultimate solution for \u00ab\u00a0remove these darn annoying black boarders\u00a0\u00bb issue: <a href=\"http:\/\/gliden64.blogspot.com\/2018\/05\/overscan.html\">Overscan feature<\/a>. Now you may crop output image as much as you want.<br \/>\n3. User profiles. You may create profiles with different settings and switch between them. For example, you may create a profile with 2D fixes enabled to play 2D games, or create a profile with N64 depth compare + FXAA enabled.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>New supported games:<\/strong><br \/>\nI already mentioned implementation of new microcodes, which finally made it possible to run any game with HLE. However, there are still games, which can&rsquo;t run properly because they do something weird what GLideN64 does not expect and can&rsquo;t emulate yet. Example of such game is Super Bowling 64. The way that game programmed makes it hard to emulate on PC hardware. Finally I found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/super-bowling-64-21409004\">a way<\/a> how it can be done. That fix then helped me to solve split screen issue in NASCAR 2000. Another example of hard to emulate issue is multiplayer mode in GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark with 3 or 4 players. It was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/goldeneye-007-4-21467967\">fixed<\/a> too.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Other:<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is impossible to list all solved issues. We <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/gonetz\/GLideN64\/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aclosed\">closed<\/a> more than 175 issues during this release cycle.
