{"id":6397,"date":"2004-02-09T12:23:39","date_gmt":"2004-02-09T12:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/ef\/?p=6397"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.emu-france.com\/?p=6397","title":{"rendered":"[Arcade] Mame v0.79u1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nouvelle update pour Mame r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par haze, les am\u00e9liorations sont les suivantes:<\/p>\n<h5>General Source Changes<\/p>\n<p>Big 80s Namco Update [Nicola Salmoria]<\/p>\n<p>this affects the first Namco games that used custom I\/O chips.<br \/>\n&#8211; these files are no longer needed and should be removed: drivers\/bosco.c,<br \/>\n  drivers\/xevious.c, drivers\/digdug.c, machine\/digdug.c, machine\/galaga.c,<br \/>\n  machine\/bosco.c, machine\/polepos.c, sndhrdw\/bosco.c<br \/>\n&#8211; added three new sound chips: NAMCO_15XX, NAMCO_52XX, NAMCO_54XX, and<br \/>\n  changed drivers to use them (NAMCO_54XX is just a placeholder playing<br \/>\n  samples, until the chip is reverse engineered).<br \/>\n&#8211; MAME testers bugs fixed: digdug063gre, galaga057gre, bosco071u2gre,<br \/>\n  poleposc059gra<br \/>\n&#8211; added EAROM support to digdug<br \/>\n&#8211; fixed the polepos2 title screen which had been broken since day 1, strange<br \/>\n  that nobody noticed.<br \/>\n&#8211; fixed various mistakes in the polepos ROM loading (one missing speech ROM<br \/>\n  in polepos,  polepos2 was using the wrong engine sound ROMs (it&rsquo;s turbo!),<br \/>\n  added missing vertical scaling PROMs).<br \/>\n&#8211; extensive documentation of ROM names and placement, and differences<br \/>\n  between Namco and licensed versions.<br \/>\n&#8211; converted all drivers to tilemaps, and made gfx emulation more accurate<br \/>\n  according to schematics<br \/>\n&#8211; polepos sprite zooming should now be closer to the hardware.<br \/>\n&#8211; IP_KEY_PREVIOUS and IP_JOY_PREVIOUS are no longer used by any driver: they<br \/>\n  may be removed from the core.<br \/>\n&#8211; support for start lamps, coin counters and coin lockout (all internallyhandled by the custom I\/O chip)<br \/>\n&#8211; toggling the test switch while the game is running enters test mode  without need to manually reset.<br \/>\n&#8211; found and documented test mode Easter eggs in all games except Xevious.<br \/>\n&#8211; bosconian now uses a different sound PROM, which seems more correct.<br \/>\n&#8211; galaga uses better dumps of the PROMs, with the unused top 4 bits set to 0.<br \/>\n&#8211; correct handling of 52XX sample start\/end pointers in ROM.<br \/>\n&#8211; better emulation of 50XX custom, no more need for hacks in bosconian.<br \/>\n&#8211; swapped digdug and digdugb, the main set should be the newer one.<br \/>\n&#8211; removed these galaga clones: nebulbee (copyright\/name change), galagab2 (mix &lsquo;n match of ROMs from other sets), galaga84 (copyright\/gfx change), galagads (1-byte hack to get fast shoot, reproducible with this line in cheat.dat: galaga:1:070D:0D:100:Fast Shoot)<br \/>\n&#8211; added Galaga rev. B, which is now the main set, renamed the other galagao.<br \/>\n&#8211; added galagamk, a different Midway version.<br \/>\n&#8211; removed various bad dumps from polepos2b and poleps2c, they turned out to be the same version so poleps2c is removed.<br \/>\n&#8211; drivers\/locomotn.c is no longer needed and should be removed<br \/>\n&#8211; converted to tilemaps, consolidated as much as I could<br \/>\n&#8211; fixed: jungler37b3gre<br \/>\n&#8211; correct tile\/sprite priority handling (also in Bosconian)<br \/>\n&#8211; documented the Easter egg in Rally X<br \/>\n&#8211; added starfield in Tactician<br \/>\n&#8211; fixed the RC filter control in the games with Konami sound<\/p>\n<p>Big Namco NB1 update [Phil Stroffolino]<br \/>\nVarious improvements for System NB emulation, including:<br \/>\n&#8211; new driver: Greatest Slugger &rsquo;93 (Japan)<br \/>\n&#8211; hardware shadow support (used heavily in Greatest Slugger)<br \/>\n&#8211; dedicated random number generator chip<br \/>\n&#8211; sprite stretch glitch (affects Outfoxies intro)<br \/>\n&#8211; tilemap tile banking feature (used by Mach Breakers)<br \/>\n&#8211; removed several game-specific hacks; now uses dedicated CPU registers for interrupts<br \/>\n&#8211; preliminary support for screen blanking (hides garbage in Outfoxies)<br \/>\n&#8211; proper POSIRQ handling, for scanline effects.  Fixes the water effects in Outfoxies.  This same feature needs to be folded into System 2 emulation, but I haven&rsquo;t gotten around to it yet.<br \/>\n&#8211; various Mach Breaker-specific hacks for interpretting the ROZ layer registers; these aren&rsquo;t yet fully understood.
