Appelé Flips, il s’agit d’un patcher IPS mais également BPS créé par Alcaro.
1.21
- Fixed a bug where applying multiple patches at once under GTK+ never let you select a file if the ROM database is enabled.
- If given a mix of IPS and BPS with the ROM database enabled, Flips will now use the ROM the BPSes want for the IPSes too.
- Switched to using CLI instead of two dozen errors on Linux if the GTK+ libraries are not installed.
1.20
- Added a ROM database (BPS only because IPS is a shitty format). This allows Flips to only ask for a ROM once, and then try that ROM again if you give it another BPS patch. (It’s off by default because it means you have to keep track of whether Flips is asking for input or output ROM, so go to the settings panel. You may want to go to the settings menu anyways, because Flips 1.20 will not read any config written by an older Flips.)
- Switched Flips to Common Controls version 6. (Translation: Switched Flips to modern-looking buttons, instead of those Windows 95-style things.)
- Switched the default patch type to linear BPS, so we’ll get some BPSes – otherwise that fancy ROM database won’t get used. (Flips will still remember your choice if you pick something non-default.)
- Apply+Run now puts the ROM beside the patch, instead of at a temporary location. This allows you to keep SRAM files. Flips will not remove the ROM after launching the emulator – some emulators do weird stuff…
- Created short forms of the more common command line arguments.
- Added .n64 and .z64 to the list of recognized ROM extensions.
- Can now apply patches to read-only ROMs. (It refuses to overwrite them, of course.)
- Enabled profiling on the BPS creator; gives about 2% speedup. Not much, but better than nothing. There is some weird math that can be done to make it a lot faster, but neither me, byuu, nor byuu’s friends can understand the papers on it…
- Fixed error messages when applying multiple patches on Windows.
- Killed a bug that caused some broken BPS patches to segfault.
- Killed a bug that could, in extremely rare cases, generate broken BPS patches.
- Included more of the compile scripts and icons. (Linux only, and may take a while to get working.)
