ScummVM est un logiciel qui vous permet de jouer certain jeux d’aventures graphiques de type ‘point-and-click’ (pointer et cliquer), à condition que vous possédiez les fichiers de données du jeu. Le plus astucieux : ScummVM remplace juste les exécutables fournis avec les jeux, vous permettant de jouer sur les systèmes pour lesquels ils n’ont jamais été conçus !
ScummVM supporte de nombreux jeux d’aventure, y compris les jeux LucasArts basés sur le système SCUMM (tel que Monkey Island 1-3, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, …), de nombreux jeux Sierra utilisant les système AGI ou SCI (tel que King’s Quest 1-7, Space Quest 1-6, …), Discworld 1 et 2, Simon the Sorcerer 1 et 2, Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, Les chevaliers de Baphomet (Broken Sword I), Les Boucliers de Quetzalcoatl (Broken Sword II), L’amazone queen (Flight of the Amazon Queen), Gobliiins 1-3, Legend of Kyrandia 1-3, un grand nombre de jeux pour enfants de Humongous Entertainment (incluant les jeux Marine Malice et Pouce-Pouce) et bien plus encore.

Après une courte pause, l’équipe ScummVM est heureuse d’annoncer la publication d’une mise à jour de maintenance pour la version 2.1 – ScummVM 2.1.1, nom de code « :More Sheep: ».
Cette version contient un nombre important de corrections et d’améliorations mineures. Les plus notables sont : un meilleur support multilingue de l’interface graphique, des améliorations de l’audio FM TOWNS/PC-98, des optimisations des sauvegardes faites dans le cloud, une vingtaine de corrections de scripts SCI, des améliorations pour Blade Runner et des corrections pour 7 autres moteurs. Il s’agit également de la première version supportant officiellement la Nintendo 3DS. De plus, nous avons ajouté le support du cloud pour la version Nintendo Switch.

L’équipe de ScummVM est ravie d’annoncer la sortie de la version 2.1.0 de ScummVM. Cette version est l’aboutissement de près de deux ans de travail, avec l’ajout de 16 nouveaux jeux basés sur 8 moteurs, un portage Nintendo Switch et près de 500 corrections de bogues. Tout cela grâce au travail acharné de 147 collaborateurs à travers 8 493 commits.

De plus, nous avons considérablement amélioré les portages Android et iOS. Vous remarquerez également le nouveau lifting de l’interface graphique, l’émulation sonore Roland MT-32 améliorée, un nouveau mode d’étirement Pixel-perfect, la prise en charge de la synthèse vocale sur MacOS et Linux, et enfin, la prise en charge de la synchronisation des sauvegardes et du téléchargement des données de jeu depuis les services de fichiers cloud (voir la liste à jour des plateformes dans notre manuel utilisateur).
Comme d’habitude, nous avons amélioré la plupart des moteurs existants : ajout du support des versions 25th Myst Anniversary, correction de plus de 100 bogues originaux de scripts SCI qui infestent les jeux Sierra depuis des décennies, support des versions Amiga et FM-TOWNS de Eye of the Beholder, qualité audio améliorée dans les jeux Humongous Entertainment et ajout de la synchronisation labiale sur les jeux d’aventure LucasArts les plus récents, élimination de tonnes de bogues dans Starship Titanic et Bud Tucker.
