PolyBlast is a cross platform, multi-system emulator, based on ares. It uses the same gui framework (hiro), the node based api, the C++ library (nall) and the video/audio abstraction layer (ruby). However, it’s not just a clone of ares with a different UI: It supports (and will support) Luke’s own emulation cores, currently that’s only ZX Spectrum but he has plans to support other systems too.
Using PolyBlast should be straight forward, the UI is very similar to ares and higan, and is kind of a middle-ground between the two: it has higan’s complex node/tree system, but exposes it via a menu-based interface, resembling ares. This allows PolyBlast to model complex configurations (nested multi-taps, anyone?) while remaining relatively simple to use.
PolyBlast contains a selection of emulation cores (a mix of ares, and Luke’s own work)
