shadPS4 est un émulateur PlayStation 4 open-source. Depuis la version 0.12.1, il abandonne son interface graphique intégrée pour fonctionner uniquement en ligne de commande.
 

Pour faciliter son usage, une interface externe est disponible. Elle permet de lancer des jeux, configurer les options, et suivre les performances via une interface visuelle simple et intuitive.
 

Cette interface est développée séparément et reste compatible avec les futures versions de shadPS4.

Un des meilleurs player de son Arcade (+ console + ordinateur), interface originale, concept original. Un peu compliqué au premier abord, mais évolutif et très complet.
 
Les changements sont les suivants (par copilot):

A la base, Hoot lit les données brutes extraites des dumps de cartouches ou de disquettes mais il peut aussi lire des formats spécifiques comme le .mdx du Sharp X68000 ou le format .kss du MSX…

Hoot peut également lire le format MIDI des jeux qui l’utilisent, soit par un émulateur intégré (Vermouth), soit en reliant directement son PC a un appareil Midi compatible (Roland MT32, CM64, SC55, SC88 ou simplement General Midi)
L’interface du programme est sommaire mais très souple, notamment l’affichage des titres qui peut se faire par classements (par éditeurs, par machines, par puce sonore etc…)
Le revers de la médaille, c’est que toute la configuration s’effectue a l’aide de fichiers .xml et qu’il faudra passer un peu de temps a comprendre le fonctionnement.

 

Pour importer des morceaux, il faut les placer au format .zip dans des sous répertoires correspondant à la machine (msx,x68k,pc98 etc…) puis recharger la liste des titres (Ctrl+R)
 
Touches utiles (sur clavier azerty) :
Alt+entrée : bascule fenêtré/plein écran
Ctrl+K : choix du skin de l’interface (parmi cinq)
Ctrl+R : recharger la liste des titres (a faire après chaque ajout)
Ctrl+W : départ/arrêt d’enregistrement d’une piste audio au format .wav (placée dans le répertoire « outs »)
Touche « Entrée » : lecture de la piste
Touche « Espace » : lecture de la piste et sélection de la prochaine dans la liste
Touche « ESC » : remonte d’un niveau dans la hiérarchie
Touches 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,Q,W,E,R,T,Y,U,I : mute ON/OFF des 16 pistes
Touche O : MUTE ON sur toutes les pistes
Touche 9 : MUTE OFF sur toutes les pistes
Touche « deux points » : active/désactive le spectrum analyzer

 

Utilisation de la souris :
Molette : navigation dans les titres et navigation dans les pistes (permet de voir la 16eme piste en mode fenêtré)
Double click sur les titres : lecture de la piste
Click Droit : remonte d’un niveau dans la hiérarchie
Click sur les pistes : MUTE ON/OFF

 

Note 1 : Pour lire simplement un fichier .mdx ou .kss par exemple, il suffit de le faire glisser sur la partie inferieure de l’interface (tip : Zebibizen)
Note 2 : Si vous ne voyez pas les caractères Japonais, il faudra passer par l’application de Microsoft Applocale [archive] ou installer un vrai système d’exploitation Japonais (par exemple sur une machine virtuelle comme virtualbox)

 

Pour rappel, il faut une clé d’enregistrement pour le faire fonctionner. Cette dernière est gratuite et s’obtient sur le site officiel. Pour passer l’interface en anglais, éditez le hoot.ini et supprimez « japanese.lng ».

Initialement nommé Mame32, il fut le premier port de MAME(Arcade) sous plateforme Windows. MAMEUI32/64 est un émulateur multi-arcade et multi consoles/ordinateurs incluant une interface (frontend).
 
Comme c’est Robbbert qui, de toute façon, fait le job pour MAMEUI depuis des années (et non John IV), il vient de proposer directement les deux builds sur sa page et pas uniquement la version 32, comme ça « ça c’est fait » ! ^^

Rappel:
L’ancien MESSUI devient le nouveau MAMEUI (arcade+console+ordinateur), l’interface étant plus aboutie et performante. L’ancienne interface (très proche visuellement mais avec quelques menus en moins) de MAMEUI est donc définitivement abandonnée.

IV/Play (prononcé «Four Play») est une interface graphique pour MAME. Il a été conçu par un codeur rémunéré par John IV comme une alternative à MAMEUI (que Robbbert maintient). IV/Play mise sur une séparation réelle entre frontend et code MAME afin que les changements sur MAME n’affectent plus le frontend. Il vous faudra .NET 10.0 pour le lancer.

Officieusement appelé Mame And Mess Emulators, MAME est un émulateur Arcade et Consoles/Ordinateurs qui relie les anciens MAME et MESS dans un seul émulateur multi-usages émulant plus de 2150 systèmes différents. Couplé au frontend QMC2, vous pouvez alors utiliser tous les fichiers Mame extras & Mess Extras.
 

 
En résumé:
MAME 0.284 is ready just in time for the end of the year! Two interesting arcade prototypes have turned up this month. One is Saurian Front, an early version of what became Strike Force, developed at Williams before they acquired the Midway name. The other is a completely unreleased Atari game called Jammin’ that runs on Donkey Kong hardware. There are a few more Sega Model 2 fixes this month, helping Virtua Cop 2 in particular.
 
The Brainchild PLS-1000, a hand-held educational device from the ’90s that you may not even have heard of, is now emulated. You can now use various replacement keyboards for early Apple II computers, some of which had advanced features like macro recording. There were some big software list updates this month for quite a few computers. The floptool disk image utility included with MAME has improved usability. You can even simulate receiving a Sega Channel broadcast on your emulated Sega Genesis.

    performs the same loop over the text each time, finally multiplying by the candidate aspect ratio. That text width calculation
    thus really only needs to be done once. Further, instead of trying different aspect ratios, the ratio can simply be calculated
    directly by dividing the width of the bounds by the string's width. This also calculates a more accurate aspect ratio, rather
    than always resulting in an aspect ratio of (0.95)^n.
 * For example, when trying to fit a 101-pixel wide text into a 100-pixel wide space, the current code would result in an aspect
    ratio of 0.95, making the text 96 pixels wide,  leaving 4 pixels unused;  the new code will instead calculate the aspect ratio
    as 100/101 == 0.9900990099... , making the text use the full 100 available pixels.
 * This in turn allows us to easily calculate the ratio also if we want to not just schrink but also stretch the text to fill the
    available space, so we add that as another text alignment option, number 3 (three).
 * This PR also demonstrates this in the VFX family of layouts, where on the default Full view, the text "MUSIC PRODUCTION
    SYNTHESIZER" ("DYNAMIC COMPONENT SYNTHESIZER" on the VFX), the logo-like text "ensoniq", and the keyboard-specific markers
    "VFX", "VFX-SD", "SD-1" and "3 2 V O I C E" can now be made to fill their available space horizontally as they should, making it
    all look that much more like the real thing.

    (eg: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/DOOM2.WAD), I had to reconstruct the floppy set myself.  The set was created by running msdos622
    in the ct486 driver with a CD-ROM attached.  I put the loose files on an ISO image, mounted it in the DOS machine, and then
    formatted floppies and copied the files to them just as the normal Doom installation sets work.
 * Due to this nature, I am marking this as a “bad dump” in the hopes someone may be able to find and dump the original disks.
